I got a copy of Rob's new Cd "Lets Start Something" yesterday. let me tell you what a thrill it was opening the shrink wrap and seeing 3 songs of mine on the Cd. Im telling you its doesn't get any better than that. I tell you 2008 is shaping up to be a banner year for me. Rob's Cd, Bug's Cd, and 2 of my Cd's to be released this spring and summer. Im also one of the guest guitarist on the new Dr Wu Cd Vol 2 ,and there's talk of Devils Back being on the KNON Blues Cd Vol 5. all this and its just January!!! 6 Cd's already slated for this year...............

Every time I record a Cd I remember why it takes me several years to record another. what I hear is most likely what other people don't hear . do I raise the reverb, lower the reverb . it needs more high mid on the guitar , less low mid on the voice. not enough low end on the guitar , to much boom on the guitar , raise the voice , lower the voice ,guitars to soft ,turn it down, turn it up ,I can sing that line better ,lets cut it again . sometimes I hate the way my voice sounds ,hell I was told by a girlfriend once I couldn't sing. on top of all of that Its songs that I have written and usually was something that had to shake me up enough to cough it out . so now you have a certain pain that comes along with the song your working on unless I'm lucky enough to write a love song or something kinda funny. this project that's to be released next month is as bare as it gets, 2 tracks just me and my guitar. on my last CD the song Feeling lucky had 16 tracks just on that one song. I'm not hiding anything on this CD. its just me baby! releasing this is kinda like having a bad dog, sooner or later you have to open the gate and go to bed. I heard Billy Joe Shaver once said about doing his CD 's " I have never released a CD , they just escape!

My newest CD "Martin & Me is a done deal and will be released March 7th at our show at the Bass Hall that evening. this CD features 10 original songs and its just what it says ,....me and my Martin . no overdubs. just raw stuff. I want to thank Joe Corpening for making this project a reality. I could not have done it with out him .

Oh man I have to catch up here!! lots to tell. first off , my new CD Martin has been out and doing well.

Bugs Henderson's CD "Blue Music" is out and I played guitar on all but 2 cuts. and my Blue Paul Reed Smith is the cover art for the Cd.

Rob Roy's CD "Lets Start Something " is out now and I have 3 songs that I co-wrote with Rob are on the Cd and they sound great. Rob flew me and Lewis up last summer and I got to play guitar on most of the tracks as well.

summers dug in here and I'm leaving in several weeks to go to New Mexico to take a stab at writing with my good friend Joe Corpening. and the day I get back on to Austin to write for a week down there.

My band Cd is to start up this month as well. I have the songs written and its ready to record.
